Fibromyalgia Pain

fibromyalgia painThe pain from fibromyalgia can be almost unbearable at times and just as unrelenting.  For myself the pain was worse in my neck and upper back area.  It was a severe aching that went on for hours or sometimes many days.  The pain also often went into my arms, lower back, joints, hands and feet.  The pain in my back would often get so bad that it would move into the back of my head resulting in a migraine.

If I was under stress or working long hours this made it worse. Even though I was severely fatigued and usually did not sleep well and this also would make matters worse.

I have been in touch with a lot of people that have fibromyalgia and it seems many people experience the pain from it in different ways. Some have more stabbing pains.  Some can’t even hardly be touched without tremendous pain.

Many references to Fibromyalgia refer to  specific tender points in the body. However many people seem to experience fibromyalgia pain in different ways.

I tried many different pain medications I tried white willow bark and other herbal remedies, Tylenol, aspirin and more serious pain meds as well. What actually worked best for giving me some relief, although it didn’t take away all the pain, was Advil. However one can’t take Advil for long-term pain relief as it can have serious side effects if used for too long. So while I did take Advil when the pain was severe I also had to work on how to heal myself and relieve my symptoms without meds. I have found immediate short term ways to ease fibromyalgia pain as well as longer term treatments that gradually lessened the pain over weeks or months.

This was an adventure that spanned years of research and trials. What I found is documented on this website and in the book that I published, also available through this website.
