Fibromyalgia Treatment

A Workable Strategy to Recover your Health as an effective treatment is what everyone needs.

One thing I like to know when I am reading information on a subject like this is what’s the overview of where this is going. This helps to tell me if this treatment is something I am interested in or is it just a rehash of information I have read numerous times. If it looks like it is along the lines of what I have found to be true and yet offers some new information or new angle on things that I may not know about, I am particularly excited and driven to study as intensively as possible.

So here is a basic overview of where I am going with this website and my book and how I hope to be of help to you. It’s basically the strategy that I eventually formulated (after a lot of trial and error) to get well and recover from these illnesses and stay well. In the chapters to follow, there is detailed information on exactly how to do each of these steps. But this gives you an idea of where we are going.

  • Improve sleep – there are ways to get a better night’s sleep to aid in healing.
  • Bump up the nutrition – my book contains a very short synopsis of what I have found to be most important with regards to your diet and supplements that will help you feel better.
  • Lighten your stress load as much as you possibly can.
  • With the help of a competent doctor, isolate any active viruses or infectious diseases and follow an appropriate protocol for treatment and get them under control by the body’s own defense system.
  • Implement a natural approach to addressing viruses and infections without the use of drugs.
  • Further build up and strengthen your immune system so as to keep those at bay.
  • Get your hormones properly balanced. Problems such as low thyroid or estrogen dominance can be causing or worsening many of your symptoms.
  • As you start feeling better, get rid of the false “solutions” to the problems that are making matters worse – pain and sleep meds, sugar and other comfort foods, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, etc.
  • Avoid known triggers that can cause symptom flare-ups
  • Start exercising daily, even if it is the lightest possible bit of exercise. Start very light and slow and s-l-o-w-l-y build up.
  • Meanwhile stay on a healthy diet, continue supplements and any needed bio-identical hormone therapy, get good sleep, stay away from high stress situations as much as you can. At this point you are in maintenance mode in a much healthier and more operational state.

You don’t have to do this exact sequence but I think this is probably best. For example, you could start exercising right away. Exercise (as long as it is not overdone) helps a lot to decrease pain and increase energy and metabolism – even though exercise is about the last thing you may feel like doing. The problem I had is that when I felt so horrible, I just could not get myself to exercise on a regular basis. Once I was feeling a bit better, I was able to start light exercises on a daily basis and keep doing it. That’s why I have exercise toward the end of the list. But certainly it wouldn’t hurt to do this earlier.

An excellent resource for a doctor who can isolate underlying causes of your symptoms and treat these causes and symptoms very competently is Dr. Wm. Marcus Spurlock of Renewed Vitality in Dallas Texas. He has been my doctor for years and specializes in the treatment of Fibromyalgia. For more information, go to his website here.

The more of this strategy that you employ, the easier it gets to do more, as each one helps to improve matters. Hopefully with the more detailed information given in the text of my book, I can make it a bit easier for you to follow a treatment path with the right steps to get well.
